| Here is my bumper guide for players. I have used spoilers, because it helps to make my posts shorter. All you have to do, is click where it says "spoiler" to open it, and then click it again to close it. I have also joined a few of my other guides together, and one of Jamus37's, so please give credit to him for his "Guide to Respect".Here is what is in my guide: 1) The Rules2) Navigation3) Editing your profile4) Posting: Where and How.5) History6) Ranks: Veteran rank, Posting ranks and Staff ranks1) The Rules
- Spoiler:
By becoming a member of Forgotten Realm, you must agree to these rules. And should you go against these rules, there will be consequences. The Rules can be found at this link: https://forgottenrealm.rpg-board.net/t2-rules-list#2 2) Navigation Here is how to find your way around the forums:
- Spoiler:
Here is the navigation bar, and a small explanation of each section:
The homepage has many helpful parts to it. Here are useful parts to it:
View the latest topics that people have posted on.
View forum statistics and top posters.
View the members that are online at the current moment. 3) Editing your profile This is extracted from my guide, and has been posted here:
- Spoiler:
From any page you like, there will always be a User CP button, like this: (also on the main page, there are two ways)
Click the User CP or the other button, and it will take you to edit your profile. It will load up with this screen:
Now, from the tiny buttons at the top of the User CP, but just below the main tool bar, There are buttons. Here is a description of them:
4) Posting: Where and How Where:
- Spoiler:
There are certain sections that you should post in. Here they are with details:
In The announcements, normal players can only reply to topics. The only board that nobody can reply to, is the Rules. Announcement may include what has recently been edited to Forgotten Realm.
The staff forum can't be seen by normal players. Only Server Support+ can access this section.
If you would like to ask a question about the server, post in "tech support" and if you would like to ask about skills, or post an achievement, then post in "skills". If you would like to criticise something about the forums or in-game.
You may post or request guides. Guides could either be about the forum (like this one), or about in-game (e.g. How to train a certain skill). By requesting a guide, you are asking for a certain guide to be made about a certain subject you want.
Here is the big one: In general discussion, you may post about anything you like, as long as it has sense, or it would otherwise be counted as spam, which would be against the rules. Server discussion would be about in-game. The off topic section, is where you may post anything you like, and not be penalised for spamming, although every other rule still counts. It does not give post count for this section. In the feedback section, you may post for either feedback of yourself or you give feedback of the server and forums. In the events section, you may suggest possible events that the whole of Forgotten Realm can join. Suggestions, is what suggestions you can offer the forum or server. The goals and achievements section is where you can post whatever you have achieved either in your personal life, or on the server.
In here, you may post either your introduction to the server (if you are new), a temporary leave or a permanent leave.
You may submit any graphic, written, model, video or GFX submissions.
In "clan advertisement", you may either join a player made clan, or create one of your own. You may post clan discussions, which is discussions about a clan. And clan events, where you can post an event that your clan is going to have (if you have a clan that is )
This is for the in-game server. Post here, if you are wanting to buy or sell items.
In this section, you may report a rule breaker, or staff abuse. But make sure you have evidence if you do. If you have been Muted or Jailed, you may post in the sections, to appeal against it. But you need good reasons. How:
- Spoiler:
New Topic: To make a new topic, you have to go into a board of some sort. Lets say you go into the "general discussion" section. Just above where it says "topic", there is a button that looks like this:
A box has now come up that looks like this:
In the next spoiler, is a previous guide of mine, that might help you with the buttons of the topics.
Posting a reply: Posting a reply, nearly exactly the same. But this time, you are only replying to what someone has said. When you go onto a topic, there is now another button, that looks like this:
It will come up with nearly the same box, apart from the top bit will say "Post a reply". Like this:
Guide of posting extras:
- Spoiler:
Well, here is a previous guide of mine that may help you in posting: Here is a list of what they are, and what they do to the text:This makes the text BoldMakes the text italicThis makes the text underlinedThis makes a strike though in the text. This can align the text to be justified, with spaces, or: Here Here Or Here This makes bullet points. - They are either in bullets.
- Or numbers.
It makes a line like the once just below this text:
You may use quotes, for what people have said, or just to put it as extra. - Quote :
- The Tall Tree Tried Throwing Tin Tablespoons.
The coding can display bb coding into copyable text. Like here is an image in "coding" - Code:
-
[img]http://i25.servimg.com/u/f25/16/55/56/79/codein10.jpg[/img] You can make tables using this: Say stuff in between the stuff. | Rawrrrr | Imma PenguinHmm. | Sexy penguin? |
you can upload pictures from your files onto the internet. If you have the URL link of an image, then paste it into the little bar, and you can copy the image into BB coding Inset the hyperlink to a page. When you click the hyperlink, it reverts you to another page. By using this, you can insert flash items. Insert the hyperlink to the page of the video you want. You can edit the text size.Edit the colour of the textEdit the font of the textHere are extras, which you can use for further text specials: IndexExponent[rand]Random (idk what this does.)[/rand] [wow]WoW[/wow] By clicking preview, you get to see how your post looks, and you may further edit it, until you are ready to send it.[/size]
5) The History Of Forgotten Realm You may like to know of the history of Forgotten Realm, so, here it is:
- Spoiler:
Forgotten Realm is an offspring of DF Scape (a now dead RSPS). DF Scape was another server, like this one. It lasted two years, and was doing great. But the owner became more and more inactive. After leaving the players to try and keep the server alive themselves, it didn't go too well, and DF Scape ended up dead. The two brilliant Co-Owners then decided to make a RSPS by themselves (Lorre and Ryu Hayabusa/Collin). With Lorre and Ryu Hayabusa coding the server, the forums went into the hands of I Am Skill (Jack) and Mynameisbob (Phil). They both created the forums.
6) Ranks Here is an explanation of the ranks that players can achieve:
- Spoiler:
Veteran: This is for members of DF Scape that transferred to Forgotten Realm. If you see a veteran, it means that they are old players, and that they have played Forgotten Realm from the start.
Posting Ranks: As you post, your rank changes. It doesn't mean anything to be a high posting rank, apart from the fact that you are possibly a spammer.
Staff Ranks: Staff jobs are stated in the rules, Article1. These positions aren't for fun. They are serious jobs. To obtain positions like these, takes these 4 things, and more. But these are the main ones:
1) Follow the Rules As I have mentioned before, by becoming a member of Forgotten Realm, you agree to the rules. The rules can be found here:
2) Know what you are doing. This includes having played this game for a while
3) Have benefited the server in some way. This could include donating, creating guides like this one, offering good suggestions etc...
4) Well known. You should be quite respected by everyone. Here is a respect guide from Jamus37 (Jamie): https://forgottenrealm.rpg-board.net/t83-respect-guide
Well. That is my bumper guide. I hope you liked it, and learnt from it. Please give feedback, on possible improvements, or pm me, if I have gotten something wrong.

Off topic: how do you put spoilers on a thread? pm me please. Thank you, and a quick guide here: Look for a button, that says "others", and looks like this, when posting: Click it. You will see that there is a bit on that says "spoiler". Highlight the text you want to be in the spoiler, and click the "spoiler" button. It's very handy, as you have seen in my guide. Hope that comes in handy as well.

| I doubt that new comers would use this guide even though if they're in distress. But yes, good guide. CBF read, it's colour full! that's good. | |
